It has kind of a western theme going. I have a big oak gun cabinet that was my grandfather's in here plus my great grandmothers desk. I found some wrought iron shelves at a yard sale for $5 and then I hosted a Home Interior party and earned a big wooden square mirror. My grandmother bought me the wrought iron candle sconces that went with the mirror. Then I picked up some black 8x10 frames at Dollar Tree(which is a really good place to find frames, especially if you love displaying pictures) and had 3 individual pictures of my monsters turned into the sepia finish using Photoshop and highlighted some soft colors in each. They add a great "old timey" feel to the room. Right now, the walls are white but eventually I would like to paint it a more neutral tone to match the decor.

I tend to decorate alot with photos we all take. Since my husband is from Florida, I took some great shots at Hillsborough state Park of the trees and river, framed them and put them up over his desk in the bedroom.

Paint and rearranging are 2 cheap ways to change the look of the room.

I like the idea of vinyl lettering or stenciling. Those are details I'll have to put off until we get done remodeling.

We display alot of the kid's artwork and crafts in all the rooms, too.Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07401189480682586544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101473495187445515.post-25016713010282237032008-04-17T20:21:00.000-04:002008-04-17T20:21:00.000-04:002008-04-17T20:21:00.000-04:00I want to do that too with frames. Yee Haw. K so I went to the dollar store and bought 9 black picture frames all the same pattern, but in 3 different sizes. I grouped some family pictures and kids portraits together on the wall in the hall way. kinda did a diamond shape pattern with the frames. And I just love it. I love pictures anyways so this allowed me to have them all in one place. I will change these out as we get new pictures done. Cost for frames $17.00. Looks rich cause it is black frames. I always say a little bit of black in a room goes a long way.Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05296018398267989023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101473495187445515.post-70701237260997391872008-04-17T10:25:00.000-04:002008-04-17T10:25:00.000-04:002008-04-17T10:25:00.000-04:00Can't wait to see your pictures.
