I was at a seminar once and the speaker was talking about Lands End. She said her husband had a pair of boots from there that were 15 years old. The sole was coming off of one of them, so he was going to have them re-soled. She told him about the guarantee and that he should check with them and see if they would re-sole them. He packed them up and shipped them off to the company and a week later he had a brand new pair of boots. I'm pretty sure that he didn't need the receipt.
I'm going to have to start buying stuff from there!

LL Bean also guarantees everything they sell. I love companies like this because you can get things replaced. My husband has a pair of sneakers from there that wore out because he wore them out in the rain and mud and such but we are going to get them replaced for free. Yes, LL Bean costs a little more, but you pay once. Now that I know Lands End has this same deal, I'll be looking there more often!
